Anand Mahindra

Anand Mahindra is an Indian billionaire businessman, and the chairman and managing director (CMD) of the Mahindra Group, a multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Mumbai, India. He is also the chairman of the board of governors of the Indian School of Business (ISB).

Early life and education

Anand Mahindra was born on 1st October 1955 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India into a family of businessmen. His grandfather, J.K. Mahindra, co-founded the tractor company Mahindra & Mohammed in 1945. His father, Harish Mahindra, is the chairman of the group’s flagship company, Mahindra & Mohammed. Anand has two brothers – Harsh and Vivek – and a sister, Shamitri Kochhar. He attended The Lawrence School in Lovedale and then graduated from Harvard Business School with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1981.

Anand Mahindra is the chairman and managing director (CMD) of the Mahindra Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is also the chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M), a leading automotive manufacturing company in India and the market leader in utility vehicles. In addition, he is the chairman of several other companies within the Mahindra Group, including Tech Mahindra, Ssangyong Motor Company and Pininfarina.

Vineet Nayar

Vineet Nayar is an Indian business executive. He is the founder of Sampark Foundation and is the CEO of Tech Mahindra. Nayar has been credited with turning around the fortunes of Tech Mahindra. He is also a columnist and the author of two books.

Early life and education

Vineet Nayar is an Indian business executive. He is the Vice Chairman and Group CEO of HCL Technologies, a leading global IT services provider.

Nayar was born in Amritsar, India. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and an MBA from Boston University.

Nayar began his career with Hindustan Lever Limited (now Hindustan Unilever) in 1986. He held various positions in Hindustan Lever’s Indian and Asia Pacific operations before moving to the United States in 1994 to head the company’s detergent business in North America. In 1998, he returned to India to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer of Hindustan Lever’s Home & Personal Care business.

Business career

Nayar is the author of Employees First, Customers Second: Turning Conventional Management Upside Down, published in June 2010. Vineet is a champion of Transformational Leadership and believes that leadership is a team sport. He has spoken extensively on this topic at various forums including the World Economic Forum, TEDx and others.

Nayar was ranked 3rd among the world’s most influential management thinkers in 2011 by Thinkers50.[17] Nayar was also ranked 9th among the world’s best-performing CEOs by Harvard Business Review in 2011.[18] Nayar was honoured with The Legend in Leadership Award from Yale University in 2013 for his outstanding contribution to the field of leadership development.

C P Gurnani

Early life and education

C. P. Gurnani was born in 1963 in India. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 1985. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mumbai.

Business career

Gurnani joined Tech Mahindra in February 2013 as the CEO and Managing Director. He is also a Director on the Board of the company.

In addition to his role at Tech Mahindra, Gurnani serves as an independent Director on the Boards of Axis Bank and Tata Steel. He is also a member of the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
